The city expects hotel occupancy of 58.13%, thanks to a consolidated strategy and a complete offer.

Although Medellin is already the third largest city of choice for tourism of domestic and foreign -behind Bogota and Cartagena-, this indicator is experiencing an interesting rise during Christmas time.

The hotel infrastructure, paisa gastronomy and the friendliness of Antioquians are definitive factors so that Medellin has 9.6 percent of the national tourist interest. According to data from the tourism indicators system, SITUR, in December of last year, to the 'bella villa' arrived 11,460 foreigners. This year is projected an increase of 5 percent.

Medellin is one of the three world's most innovative cities

From an initial group of 200 cities, Urban Land Institute chose Medellín as one of the three most innovative cities in the world.

The Medellin shares this recognition with Tel Aviv and New York.

Turibus surprise this Christmas

The metro modify their schedules for the month of December


The mass transport company said Wednesday that, by December, the Metro will have changes in their schedules in order to facilitate the movement of users in this season.

From Monday, December 5, there will be short path trains to strengthen the service in the most demanding stretches during peak hours in the morning and afternoon.

This means that between 5:50 am and 7:50 am there will be trains that only will run between Acevedo and Poblado, and back, stopping at all stations on that stretch.
